377. Global Network of Indigenous Entrepreneurs

Our Country Guatemala is characterized by the entrepreneurial spirit of their habitants.


There are many people who venture in the entrepreneurial area in family level, mainly in the rural area of the country.

The creativity is characterized by our people, mainly the indigenous population that is dedicated to the manufacture of textiles, clothing, accessories, crafts, furniture, agroindustry, among others.

This is an initiative of the Indigenous Leadership Development Institute (ILDII), which aims integrate, strengthen, and promote the indigenous sustainable development with an intercultural vision.

The Global Network of Indigenous Entrepreneurs it is stablished formally in Guatemala through the signature of the “Indigenous Economic Development Protocol” by the indigenous representatives of the six countries: Africa, Australia, Canada, Chile, Guatemala and United States.

The development of rural communities has to be priority for everyone, regardless of race, color or religion.

Mainly, it is important to support the entrepreneurial spirit of the indigenous people to be artifices of their own development.

The Global Network of Indigenous Entrepreneurs will permit the creation of opportunities for the indigenous people and thereby improve their quality of life.
