356. 1st ENVIRONMENTAL FAIR OF THE CHAMBER OF INDUSTRY FROM GUATEMALA

In our country, environmental sector has been developing accelerated since its beginnings in 1985. This year appear the first national legislations related to environment, although some forestall legislations dating back from the 20s. In other countries, especially in the industrialized ones, grew up the sustainable conscience and the need to care the world we live in, for us and for new generations, through responsible industry.  

 

We have a competitive advantage for our geostrategic position, acting as liaison between the Americas and continents for being the middle of two oceans.

We have a great riches, natural, cultural and human, which makes Guatemala a strategic region and conductive to attracting investment and being a development generator for all its inhabitants.

In that sense, recently was held the 1st Fair Environment of the Chamber of Industry from Guatemala, which has as a main objectives: 

1.Generate a space for disclosure and marketing of new technologies and environmental services for industry, government entities, investigation institutions and academy, 2. Promote and strengthen good practices, and the integral environmental management and generate environmental conscience. 3. Being an exposure window of corporate environmental social responsibility.

Guatemala potential is huge to generate riches, tapping the resources in a sustainably, we will propitiate the economic growth we all crave.

It is important to encourage the strengthening of the public sector through technological knowledge exchange, such a manner that can be formulate environmental policies congruent with territorial ordering, social development, economic growth and the local and international trade. 

All sectors must contribute with Guatemala to strengthen the sustainable development through the involvement and compromise with responsible environmental management.
